This 1966 Aston Martin DB6 has had an interesting history. Paperwork that accompanies the Aston shows that this car was supplied new to North American Specification, completed on the 10th June 1966 and delivered to its first owner, a Paul H Massey of New York, in person at Newport Pagnell on the 14th June 1966. The car was allotted a temporary registration JGF 278D and was subsequently imported into the USA through Aston Martin Lagonda North America ltd. Chassis number DB6/2828/L was supplied in LHD with a Vantage engine and manual gearbox. Further factory options included the engine breather system, Limited Slip differential, Normalair air conditioning and Webasto Sunroof.

It is believed that at some time, whilst in the States it was involved in an accident and was taken off the road (although HPI clear). Presumably about this time, its engine, gearbox and several other parts were removed and the car languished, incomplete for many years before finding its way back to the UK in the 1990's when purchased by our vendor. Restoration work commenced with the fitting of a Jaguar straight six engine and manual gearbox and extensive works to the front end of the car , this involved the fitting of some non Aston Martin parts including mechanical and bodywork items.

Although running and driving, our vendor believes that their is an issue with the head gasket so it will require further work before use.

Comes with V5 recording just one keeper since being re-registered as SEU 243D in 2000, some correspondence from Aston Martin and a handful of MoT certificates dating back to 1999.

A most interesting project that carries a very sensible guide price.
